Bagan is one of the historically enchanting cities of Myanmar and also one of the richest archeological sites in Asia. The city is truly a place of magnificent temples, pagodas and stupas that are more than 1500 years old scattered all over the 42 sq kilometers of a desert like plain region, located in upper Myanmar and on the eastern bank of the Ayeyarwaddy river. Bagan is the storehouse of ancient Burmese art and architecture. Besides, being the capital of the first dinasty of Myanmar, Bagan offers over 2000 temples and stupas of 11th -13th century. Nominated as a world’s heritage site by UNESCO, Bagan is definately the most memorable palace for visitors coming to Myanmar.
